Parent Information - Attendance SMS
Transitioning to the new absentee notification system
Bletchley Park Primary School is transitioning to a new attendance system, this means all Attendance SMS messages will now come from a new contact “BLETCHLEY”.
The new system will notify parents, guardians, and caregivers of unexplained absences or
late arrivals similar to what has occurred in the past.
What will change for Parents?
The new system starts on 19/11/2024. The new system will send parents an SMS on their mobile phone when their child is marked absent without an explanation.
Parents should delete the old Absentee SMS number to avoid confusion. They should not use the old number to communicate with the school.
Below is a sample message that parents will receive. Parents will receive this SMS with a hyperlink if their child is marked absent without an explanation. Parents should use this hyperlink to add attendance notes/ reason for their child’s absence.
*Please note that the hyperlink will be valid for only 160 hours. Do not reply
to this message via SMS as the school will not receive your information, you must use the hyperlink.
The school will receive your response via the hyperlink provided and update our records accordingly. Please ensure your phone is connected to an Internet data plan or has WIFI access to use the hyperlink.
If your child is absent again without a prior explanation, parents will get a new one-time hyperlink to respond to.
If parents choose not to use the hyperlink provided, they can still notify the school of their child’s absence via telephone (9234 6400) or email bletchleyparkps@education.wa.edu.au .
